If I was to plug a dual 604e card into an alchemy mobo (powerbase 240), will it work? or will it go pop?

The edge connectors seem to be the same.

As I recall some processor cards will not work in some systems. I know that the 604ev-based processor cards for the will only work in Kansas-based motherboards.

Besides that, I have never heard of any such problems, so you should be fine.
