How do you do a soft reboot??? My newton 2000 is being buggy.

A computer without Windows is like a dog without a brick strapped to his head

do you have avi's backdrop? that's the only way i know how. press the "i" in the corner for a moment, like you're selecting icons and it will ding. then it will pull up a different menu than normal, reboot newton is one of those choices.

There are a number of different resets. I looked them up at the FAQ here

http://www.chuma.org/newton/faq/newton-faq-nos.html#IIIB2

Following the directions here for the reset with extensions off didn't work for me. Is there anyone who has done this successfully and can give a more detailed description of where the pen needs to touch the screen?

I have done it on my STOLEN (and missed) MP2000, I have found that a fingernail works better than a pen for it, and it needs to be on the left side of the screen, about a half inch in and halfway down. play with it till you get it.
