Woohoo. Anyone who was around 6 months or so ago would know I whinged a lot about not having enough hard drives to keep all of the lil macs running as they should be. Last week I found an auction on ebay for nine 1Gb drives, $8.95aus each. yay! I grabbed 5, they've all formatted nicely, and are working well. Two months ago I came across two 2Gb drives too - I feel pretty relaxed about my storage problems :D.

Now to find 40 or 60gb for the iMac :D

or you could get a whole bunch of 40-80mb drives and plopp them in the quadras... and then make a raid setup of all the 1 and 2 gb drives, and then grab urself a jackhammar card, and a whole bunch of ethernet cards... muahhahahaha. storage madness.

When I finish Quadrajet (14 drives!) these coming holidays, I might partition every drive into an insane number of 40 MB virtual drives... Software RAID!

Anyway Dana, you can pick up 80 GB ATA drives for around $199 AUS these days, nearly cheap enough for me to go get one for my iMac's external storage tower!

My Intrikit Weawver should have about 4 or 5 HDDs in it, these would be
1 10 GB
2 1.0 GB
3 1.6 GB
4 1.7 GB
5 (maybe) 850MB

now.. my 200k website should be JUST FINE within the confines of an 800 MH drive...

I'd say the more the merrier, I my main Mac now is (Ahem..) a PM6400 and I've add memory, another HD (1.5 SCSI) to the existing system 1.2 IDE and I'm still looking for more HD space. I guess one can never be too rich or beautiful...heh-heh.

SCSI or IDE? If they're IDE, cool score. If they're SCSI, GREAT SCORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm feeling pretty relaxed about my storage problems, too, even though my click-click got the click last year. Who needs a click-click when you have a BURNER????
