i remember reading that you can use an apple ii external floppy drive with a compact mac, or it might fry the floppy controller. i just picked up one of these, but i'[m not sure if it's apple or mac... it says Apple 3.5 Drive, model # A9M0106... can i plug it into my Mac SE?-- Performa 630 LCIII SE |

If it is white, and is called a Unidisk, it won't work. If it is platinum, it will work. If it is anything else, I don't know.II2II Intelligence officer in training. |

The "Apple 3.5 Drive" is an 800k drive for Apple IIgs and early Mac systems...sure you could use it with your Mac SE, but only if you want an additional 800k drive (for whatever reason...)However, if you have a spare internal FDHD drive lying around, you can swap mechanisms with the 800k... -------------------- keeper of the website , master of the Quadra/Centris Stick of Justice™, and figure-head of the Peoples' PDS Republic -------------------- |
