I used the information on that site and my powerbook has, at one time, run for over 30 minutes on the cells which I installed.I don't recall any major troubles with that guys instructions, but the intelligent battery memory utilities are scarce (Battery Amnesia, and one other, from LIND). You'll need them, seriously. I had 7 shorted cells in the original cell stack, so the smart battery CPU and memory stuff had stored a lot of bad data on the way to dead cells.
These utilities eradicate the bad cells data and thus helped make the new batteries work. Before I used the utilities, even after overnight charge, 3 to 6 minutes was all I could get out of a full charge on the new cells, until I learned about the utilities..... where did I find them..... infomac?
I can email them via peecee, if necesary.
Anyway, I have since done something wrong, and right now all I get is 9 minutes. The run time dropped after I repaired the defective memory one time too many, I think. Still, it is coming back up again, so I have to keep trying. A] I used old cells, never had been used but were 3 years old; b] I charge, then discharge then test the memory, repeatedly, which slowly increased my run time.... I'm at cycle 98 since recelling the battery, cycle 92 was the longest run which I mentioned above.
I hope your mileage WILL vary,
