Firstly, welcome to the 68k Macintosh Liberation Army.Secondly, I have the same machine as you, and have done the same operation. It is meant to be set on Master, but that is not the reason as to why its not working. You said you formatted it with "Mac OS 9.2.2 format". That would be HFS+, which System 7 can't read. Provided you have at least 20 megs of RAM, what I reccommend you do is do something like my setup: 1 HFS partition, preferably no bigger than 2 gigs. This contains your Mac OS 8.1 System Folder 1 HFS+ partition which fills the rest of the space. A 68k Mac can't use a HFS+ partition as a boot device, so don't put a system folder here. Hope this helps. -------------------------- Give your dreams a chance.™ - Apple in the mid '90s Warrior maclover5 68k Macintosh Liberation Army Number of 68ks Liberated: 6

Sounds like you've formatted it as HFS+. You could try reformatting in the G3, however if you have a bootable floppy there should be a copy of Drive Setup (or HDSC Setup) on it that you could use to do the reformat.Good to see another Aussie in here What's your general location? 68k ParaMedic |

Btw, I have a 6 gig HD in my LC630, originally from my iMac 333, and I have to say...its a big step up from the original 250 megger (now in my peeeeeeceeeeeee). I have a 2 gig HFS partition which is my main partition, and a 4 gig HFS+ partition for video capture. I *LOVE* being able to finally capture real amounts of video on this thing! -------------------------- Give your dreams a chance.™ - Apple in the mid '90s Warrior maclover5 68k Macintosh Liberation Army Number of 68ks Liberated: 6

With the drive being the only one in the 630, it wouldn't be such a problem with the OS not being able to read it, but the mac roms not recognising it as a bootable partition......which I shoulda thought of when I pointed babyblue over this way. oops!. vacant-dana-kinda-night :)
Good point. Never thought of that. -------------------------- Give your dreams a chance.™ - Apple in the mid '90s Warrior maclover5 68k Macintosh Liberation Army Number of 68ks Liberated: 6
