Methinks this should be in 68k Software...~Coxy will probably move it there as soon as he gets on. BTW, I believe you can download the OS 8.1 Disk Tools disk image from Apple's website.-------------------------- Give your dreams a chance.™ - Apple in the mid '90s Warrior maclover5 68k Macintosh Liberation Army Number of 68ks Liberated: 6

...that is provided you actually have OS 8.1. You need 8.1 to even access HFS+ disks, but I'm hoping you know that already -- Mark Benson FlatPackMacs http://fpm.gotdns.com 2nd Lieutenant - 68kMLA, LC Quartermaster Holder of the Crowbar of Persistant Crate Opening "Never send a human to do a machine's job" - The Matrix |

GLooGLOO GLooGloo .. The disk tolls at apple.com is PPC only of course.I have trying to set apple HD set up with RESEDIT but the header file is unscriptable ( it's for JUNIOR's pirate ).It's not an hexadecimal value of course. You can mount on an 68K apple volumes that you want.( exept HFS+ and perhaps the fat32 PC format I don't no ). Nobody have it ?It's the war.... |

YES.Systems before 8.1 don't understand sectors HFS+.We ought to search the case who read sectors HFS and try to modifie the value but the system have a checksum.I'm not sure !! I'm going to search this disk or a suitcase on the web with a metasearch engine on another computer.I have the enabler and the finder. But the hack is difficult I have a map of boot sectors.Perhaps with hexedit , I don't no.Thank you.See you soon. If you have the disktool suitcase 68k's,I'm interesting DANA. It's the war.... |

I have just discovered with ACTION Space Doctor that my 1.2 GB HD would have 112MB more free space if it were formatted as HFS+.
Is there a way to create 2 partitions so that on is in HFS an other in hfs+ ? Or is there another way that small files won't take so mush disk space? --------- The Best of the 68k Games: http://www.hot.ee/macgames/ |

You can do it, but you'll need to completely reformat the disk first.1. Initialise the disk and create two standard HFS partitions 2. Install OS8.1 on one of the HFS partitions 3. Boot up on OS8.1, then erase the 2nd partition and make it HFS+ in the process - you can do this in the Finder However.... I'm guessing most of your small files are going to be in your system folder on the standard HFS partition anyway.
