HOLY MOTHER****ING JESUS!I'm posting this from the brand-mother****ing new, 867MHz G4 Powerbook that's sitting on my desk. This is the first new computer I've purchased since 1986...I am still kinda in shock. The process of buying the 'book took about 2 and a half hours of standing around in the Apple Store...I'll explain why later, I'm **** off tired right now. Anyway, I got the basic config but sprung for the second 256MB stick for $40. I also got a HP Deskjet 5550. No Oxygen 8, I didn'y have enough money. That and a scanner will likely be my next purchases, though. Jesus this thing is beautiful...the perfect desktop replacement. Shit...I'm in love. I have to finish installing stuff now...be back tomorrow! 666th poster and 666th thread-creator Mod of the Mac II series Forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 7 My Site: http://cine.sytes.net My Hotline Server: 840av.sytes.net

Thanks JT!I still can't believe I got a PowerBook...I think the planets were in supreme alignment to have the money from my clients come through two days after the release of a new, price-dropped model! I can't imagine what I might be thinking right now had the money come a weel earlier.... 666th poster and 666th thread-creator Mod of the Mac II series Forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 7 My Site: http://cine.sytes.net My Hotline Server: 840av.sytes.net

Congratulations on your new family addition. But you forgot one thing...Pictures! We want to see some pictures! Woohoo! (On a slightly related note, I found out from my boss at work that he spotted a bunch of TiBooks on discount at a nearby Wholesale place. He mentioned the price to be in the $800-900 range. If this is true, I may be the proud owner of a new 667MHz TiBook, at a much easier on the wallet cost! ) ------------------ Captain Z - Mobile Operations Commander 68K Macintosh Liberation Army 23 68K Macs Liberated Visit Captain Z's Starbase of EV Stuff |

Yeah...they money issue was quite an ordeal for me. Even though I had twice the amount I needed in the bank, I forgot about a little something called "daily spending limits" that my bank imposes on debit card transactions....ugh. Fortunately for me, ATM withdrawal and debit card limits are separate, so I was able to take $300 out of the ATM and put the other $2400 or so on the card.... 666th poster and 666th thread-creator Mod of the Mac II series Forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 7 My Site: http://cine.sytes.net My Hotline Server: 840av.sytes.net Edited by - cinemafia on 09 Nov 2002 02:28:24

No, acually, I haven't decided what to name the beastie yet...I guess I'll wait for divine inspiration. As for pics...I have no cameras at all right now, and can't quite afford to get one after dropping more than $2,700. Sorry to keep everybody in suspense...but I'll make it worth the wait! 666th poster and 666th thread-creator Mod of the Mac II series Forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 7 My Site: http://cine.sytes.net My Hotline Server: 840av.sytes.net

Hey, super-congrats, Cinemo! My TiBook is 'only' 500 mHz, but it's a touch little beastie, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.... okay, maybe a 20th Aniv. Mac..... or, ummmm, a mint Lisa 1.... but that's it! Anyway, have fun with that thing, and do let us know what you end up calling it. When I first got my Difference Engine, it went through a few names, some okay (Big Iron), some lousy (Bubba), and some just boring (TiBook)... it took a while for the right name to spring to mind, but it'll happen... Okay, I'm outta here! :-) SpaceBoyOfficial MLA Raconteur AppleBASIC FOREVER! The box isn't very big at all, and I'm sad that I had to disfigure it by cutting out the UPC info in order to get my $100 rebate. As for InDesign, it only comes free with towers, but, never-the-less, I was able to surce a copy anyway. I'm going to need it for the project that paid for this 'book! 666th poster and 666th thread-creator Mod of the Mac II series Forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 7 My Site: http://cine.sytes.net My Hotline Server: 840av.sytes.net

Here's my first screen capture! Not a whole lot to say about it...I picked the desktop from MacDesktops because it matches the color scheme I used in painting my bedroom. You can see some of the apps I installed in the dock...dats about it for now. 666th poster and 666th thread-creator Mod of the Mac II series Forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 7 My Site: http://cine.sytes.net My Hotline Server: 840av.sytes.net
