I got one of my favorite peripheralsback from the evil ex and hooked it up, the clickety-clack sounds of the dinokidz Alps mechanical keyswitch herd again fills the air.

I really hate mushy membrane keyswitches!

I need to get a hold of one of those. I use an IBM Model M (the PC equivalent), and hate switching to my membrane based Apple Keyboard II whenever I fire up the SE. Yes, membrane keyboards do suck, like the Microsoft Natural that I'm using now (it's my friend's computer, mine's downloading new FreeBSD updates).

Enough ranting from me for now.

HAR!™ I still remember when MacAddict reviewed one of those in their Peripherals article back in the June '97 issue. It was Nikki's and she *LOVED* it. Do you have the matching "dino-claw" mousepad?

I HAD the mouse & pad, dunno about HAVE, at this point, I just pulled down the ADB box and it has the matching red ADB cord in it and I'm pretty sure the pad and mouse are around here in a box somewhere or still need to be rescued.

All this thing needs is a "lap desk" type cushion underneath it for surfing! Could use "Home & End" keys, but it's the only "mini" kbd with Page Up & Page Down that I know of. That's why I bought it, it wasn't for the munchkin, it was for ME!

Does anyone know of any keyswitch boards that are USB?

I don't like the membrane boards either... right now I'm useing a Macally iKey, and I like the touch on my Newton keyboard better!!!

In the IBM "M"/AEKII thread over in MacAch, somebody just hacked an iMate into his AEKII to turn it into a USB keyboard, you should do that with your AK, that's the one you like right? I tried it, but I can't give up PageNav keys, so I put it away, I'm lovin' the old dinokidz tho, it could use Home & End keys, maybe it's time to boot up ResEdit for a KCHR Table remap again!
