are there any really good web resources out there on using a mac without an hd

mine doesnt have one. I thought it did at first because "i could hear it spinning up" but i dont know wtf was making noise; i opened up the case and there was no hd in there. Any good links?

Well, put a System Folder with a System file on a disk. Put whatever program you want to run in the System Folder, and rename it Finder. Change the type/creator to FNDR/MACS with ResEdit. You now have an instant boot disk! Stick it in the Mac, turn on the power, and the program will automagically run. I did it with Tetris to make a disk that will turn any compact Mac into a DedicatedTetrisBox™.

Silent computing is a treat but a bit slow when files are being written to disk. I've used a RAM disk and it works better - much better
