hey gang, here's a random question:
my local American Science Surplus has a 44meg SCSI SyQuest drive for sale. I was thinking about picking it up, and putting the CD-ROM drive from an dead PM7200 into it.Questions: is it worth the $20 USD for the SyQuest, and will it boot a 68K mac after the modification? Thoughts please Mac Pacifist

Dunno if the price is right, if it works and comes with come carts, prolly. If it's just for an external case for a CD, it might be a little pricey.Yank the CD from the 7200 and the HD from one of your 68k Macs and so an open case test to make sure, I think it should work, but concept testing before buying stuff is always a good idea. jt  ™.

Three cheers for American Science and Surplus! I've been to both their old/original location and the new warehouse, by the way. Gotta love that place...sometimes I'm tempted to fly back to the midwest just to go there, and not to visit family!  666th poster and 666th thread-creator
