What should I do with this? I have had it doing nothing for a couple of years, and I think I'm going to paint it and mount it in my bed somehow. What are somethings I can use this relatively underpowered comp for? Any cool ideas?pwn3d j00z n008. |

Sure. Use it for Linux/BSD, as a web server, to play older Mac games (see http://mac.the-underdogs.org/), for word processing, as a dumb terminal/Xterm for another box, and pretty much anything else you can think of.Official 68kMLA Music and NeXT Expert Macs Liberated: SE (2), LC, IIsi, PB 145b, Quadra 700 (2), LC 575, 6100 (2), PB 5300, PowerMac 5400/200, Performa 6400/180 PCs liberated from Windoze: 3 |

Aaaah, the 630s...one of my favourite 68k series. There are pratically no limits to the usability of a 630. You could put in a big HD (the 630 uses cheap cheap cheap IDE HDs), load it with OS 8.1 with a big@$$ HFS+ partition, as well as a small 100 meg system partition formatted as HFS (for the system files), put in a CommSlot ethernet card, and have a nice lil fileserver! They also make a nice web/email/proxy/ftp/anythingyouwant server, too. You could put an Apple Video System into the Video slot, hook up a decent monitor and have a *VERY* high quality TV (even with my 2 head VCR, The Matrix almost looks like its playing off a DVD). You could use it to play classic games, as was mentioned before, or you could give it to a family member for a word processor/web machine/game machine. You can put MpegDec on it and listen to Mp3s, too. Have fun, the 630 is a great system, with plenty of uses. -------------------------- Give your dreams a chance.™ - Apple in the mid '90s Warrior maclover5 68k Macintosh Liberation Army Number of 68ks Liberated: 6
