I just noticed that the mac icon next to "Welcome to Macintosh" has the mouse on the left side. That doesn't make too much sense to me. Aren't 90% of the people in the world right handed? Maybe the guy who drew that logo was a lefty.

The explanation is simple:

People who are left-handed use the right side of the brain most. The right side of the brain handles creative functions, whereas the left handles logistic. Therefore, people who are left-handed tend to be very creative. It's a well-known fact that most mac users and others surrounding the mac universe are creative people, often students or professionals. This can be easily seen at any art school, just look around -> lots of south paws and lots of macs!

Hmm ...I have noticed that too...being a lefty myself. Interfacing with the Mac seems more natural to me than my XP Amd Powered PC. I don't have to work as hard pushing the mouse around.

Too newfangled, real hackers use baling wire and chewing gum! No worries about adhesive/fabric web failure. If duct tape had been available "back in tha day" there wouldn't be any C-47/DC-3's still in service.
jt

p.s. a roll might have come in handy on Apollo 13 though, but I think only Rex' and I remember that one *some of these kids proly' don' even remember the freakin' MOVIE !...sheesh!!!!*!

You know, I've heard some people still use C-47's to hold their wet clothes up in the air...kinda strange if you ask me!

In the film industry clothes pins/pegs are referred to as "C-47's". Sorry, thought that was what you were talking about!

think cargo aircraft-paratroopers-jumping-saving private ryan........
*TGI didn't refer to "the longest day"...sheesh!*
*see footnote
jt

*I wonder if there's a derivation involved, the old saw was that a "goony bird" (C-47) was so old and it was held together with baling (hay baling machines) wire and chewing gum! I'll bet gaffers (i love their rev of duct tape (sealer for pittsburg lock, drive-clip, s-clip etc. seams in galvanized ducting for fabricating forced air systems, that's why it's dirty-silver) with temporary as opposed to "permanent adhesive. A C-47 would be their notion of a good name for a makeshift-hold-it-together-in-the-air-fastener! What was their crazy name for sandbags? Love the sense of humor of visually-creative types with time on their hands who are worn out from spurts of frantic hardware improvization!

I think you're absolutely right on that anecdotal reference, JT! Oh and uh, Gaffer's tape is actually flat black, rather than dirty silver. Also, it doesn't have imbedded twine/string in it like duct tape does, and is as easy to tear as loose paper. God, I love that stuff. Once I was on a shoot and I created a makeshift monk's costume using gaffer's tape and black felt!

I love it too! It makes sense for lighting techs to use black tape and to make sure it's color coded so it doesn't get confused eith the grip's silver shi......... so of course they both come in all kinds of colors no!. I didn't want to go into too much detail, I'm trying to limit the length of my posts. Great job on the costume!

I don't think UBB can do word counts, but if it did, I'd have my money on you as the top!

Join right in, nobody else was hanging around this afternoon so it got just a little silly, after that duct tape brain surgery crack anyway.
