If i hook up a 17 inch PC monitor to my Centris 650 what are the possible videmodes ? It's got the original 512K video ram on the mobo. Can i run 1024 by 768 ? I don't have a NuBus videocard.

I am not sure about the resolution, but the onboard video is not much good for anything but an auxillary monitor. I think it might run 1024x768, but at less than 8bit color. please correct me if I am wrong. Get a NuBus video card, they are dirt cheap right now for a professional quality card.
up the vram if you cannot get access to a nubus card. 512k is fine if you are word processing, but anything else, and you will get a hankering for more 
anyway...

Yes, by all means upgrade the VRAM. IIRC, the best you can do with that much VRAM is 640x480 in 8 bit color. If you're going to be running A/UX or using the computer for anything useful, you'll need more VRAM.Official 68kMLA Music and NeXT Expert
