I'm hacking an iMac into a case. The parts I have to fit are:~PSU ~Motherboard ~CD ROM ~HD ~Floppy drive ~panel with USB/Ethernet/etc connectors And I'm wondering which 68k case to use? My choices are: LWII DuoDock SE IIcx IIsi (this might be too small) Well? Any advice?

The IIcx case sounds like a good idea.-------------------------- Give your dreams a chance.™ - Apple in the mid '90s Warrior maclover5 68k Macintosh Liberation Army Number of 68ks Liberated: 6

I'm assuming that you're not trying to re-wire an internal monitor, right? In that case (no pun intended) I'd go for the IIcx coz it has the most room to play with. You should be able to cut away necessary plastic, screw in any mounting points you desire, and just 'drop' in the iMac parts. The hardest part is always going to be the slot and mounting required to get the CDROM working nicely.cheers Flash! 68k ParaMedic |

While it's probably the least challenge, the IIcx has a nice form factor and would make it fairly easy, as Flash said...~Coxy - Leader, Tactical Operations Unit Mayor of NuBus City v3.0

looking at my rev.A iMac, and my IIsi, the only thing that'd be tricky is the speakers... the rest will fit grandly... i mean... you could extend the cables and put the speakers in the back.you need to have the speakers attached, because without them, there can be NO sound at all, not thry the external port, not thru the headphone ports i've had this problem in the past... NEVER let an entire family of 4 into your iMac simultaneaously oh... i see the trickiness now... the SI is pretty short... i'm sure it can be done though... (.ME reengineers his iMac mobo and connectors to fit in the IIsi nicely. Official 68k videographer |
