There haven't been any posts in this forum for 15 days! What's wrong? Aren't our quadras still beating up on lesser 68k's and soaring to the top of the universe? Hacks, anyone? Questions? New and exciting discoveries?

**tumbleweed blows by**

Long live 68040!!! **raises beer can**

Anyways...about hacks (kinda). my 650 doesn't have an internal CD-ROM, so in my head i formulated a plan to get my AppleCD 600e to send audio to the internal speaker so i could listen to CDs without using headphones. As some of you might know, external Apple CD-ROM drives have 2 RCA ports for sound out. With this in mind, I mozied on down to my local RadioShack, picked out a male->male RCA cable (with the red and the white) and an RCA->1/8 adapter. Cost: roughly 8 bucks. Expression when I get home and realize that the only way that'll work is if i'm recording music from the cd: priceless

heh...

Eventually, I'll upp (or Da' Penguin will add) all of the Quadra/Centris service manuals to our little 68k MLA hotline server...

My raw 040 power is sitting in the closet until January when I make it my Linux box.

Bah! Down with the fixed resolution color-less monitors! **Hides his AudioVision 14 fixed at 640x480 under a blanket** At least it displays thousands of colors.

Wait a minute. Aren't we all on the same side? We fight against the defamation of 68ks by those silly x86 troopers.

<corny>The 68k Macintosh Liberation Army was founded on 68k love and understanding, regardless of screen size, resolution, and color depth.</corny>

Can't we all just get along?

Right now, my 660 A/V is waiting for a steady monitor, so it doesn't have to share one (via a VGA converter) with my PC. Once I get that though, it shall be used in all its glory to capture video, run A/UX, and play games.
