I got my Performa down from the attik inthe hopes of gettig it to work.

The Performa will boot from an apple 7.1 boot floppy, though when I copy the system folder over to the hard drive, it wont boot from the hard drive.

now I am guessing from looking at the mobo that 4 chips labled:-

"Samsung
341-0474
1983-92
Apple 9251(last chip 9246)"

are the rom chips, which I am thinking I can upgrade?

It has to be said, & laughed at?

shall I swap the tos(The Operating System) chips from my st & Performa?

Surley it can't work but how do I know unless I try?

Can anyone get me os 7.5.5 or earlier on floppy, preferably with the networking enbled?

or if someone has an old hard drive they want to sell, that has os 7.5.5 or earlier?

No, you cannot upgrade the ROMs on your Performa. There are no newer versions of the LCII/Performa 400 ROM. And yes, those 4 Samsung chips are ROMs.
