I have forgotten, and it has eluded me in the FAQ, which file to delete to keep the A/UX mac from logging itself on as root,
please help this braindead person

The file is called Autologin. You can delete it, or just open it and delete its contents (which should consist only of the word "root").

The file is in /mac/sys/login system folder/ -- or something like that.

thanks -- found it.

BTW, A/UX LIVES on my Q650, it took a little fiddling, and the lates version of enabler 040, but it vurked, muahahahahahaha

methinks that it logs on automatically logs on as root to make sure that layman computer users are not confused by the login screen [::)]

Imagine how confused the layman user would get when he can't run A/UX after he unwittingly destroys vital system files, or someone else does when his box gets rooted, or how slow his computer gets after he accidentally installs a bunch of worms. Logging in as root by default is just a bad security practice!
Maybe I should try OpenBSD instead.

as I have said, it is disableable, just do a search for autologin, open it in textedit, and delete the word root.
