could I use Basilisk II to emulate A/UX on my iMac or Win98 computer? if so, which Mac model should i set the emulator to emulate, and which ROM image would best support A/UX?------------- Special Ops, 578th Performa Division Fort Llama, Memphis Tennessee Owner, only Performa 578 liberated by the 68kmla |

A/UX didn't work on Basilisk II the last time I tried it. Supposedly the MMU emulation was not fully implemented. However, I think that the MMU implementation has improved since then, so it wouldn't hurt to give it a try.I don't think anyone has tried A/UX on Fusion yet. Give it a try; it just might work. Set it to any of the A/UX supported machines (see the A/UX FAQ) and try an install. As far as ROM images go, use the ROM image that goes with the Quadra you're using. I thought the main problem with basalisk II is that you could only have an HFS partition, not any other kind. of course, this is relying on my faulty memory... Err. Maybe not, that appears to be a screenshot being edited within basilisk running MacOS. I did connect my A/UX drive to my laptop and booted basilisk and got an "A/Rose" error.. I've seen that before so I just removed the extension (Anyone know what it is for???) and rebooted. It came up, gave me an error about not having a PMMU so I told it continue. Then another PMMU error and it dumped me back to MacOS with what looked like a terminal screen.Useless 6360av 16/1.2/8.6 :( SE 4/20/HD/6.0.8 :) Q840av - DEAD :`( Q650 256/230/7.6 Woot! I saw an interesting suggestion the other day. UAE emulates a 68k with full MMU support, and the version of Fusion for Amiga has MMU support. Someone with UAE should try it.Official 68kMLA Music and NeXT Expert Macs Liberated: SE (2), LC, IIsi, PB 145b, Quadra 700 (2), LC 575, 6100 (2), PB 5300, PowerMac 5400/200, Performa 6400/180 PCs liberated from Windoze: 3 |

It has been a while since I used UAE, does it work like the mac where you can pass the hard drive connection through? If so, I'll just load my Q650 rom into amiga basilisk and boot from my q650 drive.6360av 32/6.4/8.1 ;) SE 4/2000/FDHD/7.0.1 :) Q840av - Alive! Q650 64/2000/A/UX Woot!
