My backlight just stopped working for some mysterious reason. If I whack it a little on the side (yeah I know not the smartist thing to do ;)) it will flicker on for a second or two. Any ideas? |

Stop whacking it! Sounds like something is loose and it's in need of some open case surgery, but I've got no newton experience at all so wait for decent ideas!And stop whacking it!  jt  ™.

a 130 is going to take some patient and a good memory to get it back together. I had my 130 apart once, and i pray that it will never happen again. sounds like something is loose. It happened on my 2000. BTW, anybody had any luck with that nsync beta? _______________________

Does the Newt reset itself?If not, then you might want to open and tighten stuff.. if it resets, the backlight system is shot. I've used nSync, yes. It works pretty well right now. John fixed 2 bugs I encounterd the first night it was out. ~Marchie ~Chaplain Marchie

It doesn't reset itself. There was nothing loose or disconnected that I could find. Once I re-solder the wire I broke off the battery compartment, I'll finish reassembling it and give it a try.
