the title says it all. My list:

SE (my original Mac)
SE/30 (should have 2 of these working soon, one as a server)
Classic II (I wonder if I can run AUX on it...)
Plus (turning into a Mobile and fish tank)

Classic II 4/40 (stock condition)
Original 128k upgraded to 512ke with both internal and external 800k floppy drives, running System 6.0.8. Still has the original back cover. Great machine!

Technically an iMac is a Compact Mac as well as a 5500.

Actually, the 5500 and iMac are considered "All-in-One" computers.

Neither will fit into a "Compact Mac Carrying Case".

I don't have any compact macs, actually. I had a SE FD/HD, but it was lost years ago during a move. I really need another one, either an SE/30 or a G3 AIO would be great.

Yes, I too have discharged a CRT across my chest.

Luckly, I used too small a guage wire to make my discharge tool, and thus there was enough resistance that I didn't die.

Talk about a rush...

My 512K still gets some use. It's upgraded to a 512Ke and has an external 400K drive, an ImageWriter, and a Thunder Scan. I still have all my disks from 15 years ago too.

Wow, 15 year old magnetic media? They're not corrupted and all? One of these days my dad is going to spring for a dvd burner because we don't trust tapes with his family history imovies. All of our old vhs tapes from about 10+ years back are in terrible terrible shape.

I have the original Guided Tour disk that came with my 128k way back when. A 17 year old floppy disk. Btw, what happened to all your old video tapes? Most of our old VHS tapes from the late 80s/early 90's are still in pristine condition, with hardly any quality loss at all.

The Apple ][ disks I have work fine too, and we got the system in '81.

Even longer: We got a Commodore PET in '78. A 2001 series - the very first Commodore. It worked until the late '90s. A ROM chip and the belt in the tape (casette) drive gave out. Until then, all tapes I used worked fine. I'd love to find(make?) a new set of ROM chips and find out how the computer is.

The computer spent the late '80s/early '90s in the garage. Not the coolest place for it to be. Tapes have been stored inside.

I have one compact Mac, an SE/30. It would be a great system, except that it has the "display image randomly deciding to snap to a vertical line at the centre of the display" problem. A friend and I are going to try to crack the Mac and repair the problem (if I can make sure that I am able to discharge the CRT; I don't want to die), but until then, I still use it a little bit. When I resurrect it permanently, it will be going to a friend for her to use as her own computer. :)

Play them enough and they cark it slowly and horribly.

I have one Plus that I still drag out occasionally for a good bout of Airborne or Dungeonns of Doom. The greatest tragedy is I no longer have working copies of Shadowgate, Cap'n Magneto or Ancient Art of War at Sea. Anyone wanna help me out there?

I use a Mac Classic in my kitchen to keep my recipes on, and play some older games. It does great for my recipe files, so it's not obsolete. It's still very useful.

I have 2 Mac Pluses and a Mac SE that I actually use for somthing. I have a third Mac Plus that does not work, after buying it I discovered that the insides were filled with some unidentfied white crusty material and after cleaning off all of the boards it only powers on half the time and the disk drive is broken so I can not boot it.

I have a Plus with a screen problem of some kind - it's like it tries to display the 512x384 screen at 21" and only shows a 9" square in the middle of it. Something popped inside it and it's been that way since!

The other is a Classic II in VERY clean condition, which I'd like to sit in my bookcase and use as a clock/alarm clock. any thoughts on the software to do this? I have dozens of other mac things ahappening and never finished chasing this one up!.

I realised that I haven't yet stated my Compact Macs!
Anyway, I have a Color Classic (as well as it's big brother, the 575) and a normal Classic. They're looking good after a thorough clean, and are now in storage till I get more space.

I just have a MAC SE FD/HD. It has Word 5.1 and Excel on it. It serves as a word processor when the "muse" hits me. I put jokes on it of all things.

I! :smiles: have my Mac SE FDHD, it's in pretty good shape, and with it came several prewritten homework from the "McMinneville HIgh school Writing Lab" Yes, I got it in oregon at a goodwill.

it works very well, it has the original 20MB hdd, and 1 MB of RAM, one of these days, I'm going to get a Torx 15 that's long enough for opening it, i'll open it, look, then close it because of the lack of a discharge tool, I'll make one, then discharge it and hopefully upgrade the RAM to a full 4MB, then I'll put system 7.0.1 and maybe some kind of serving software, it takes very little power, and the external floppy bus powered scsi HDD that I have it fairly quiet, so I might just use this little sucker as a web/email server.
