I was playing Wolfstien. The screen pic had a funny ghost. I did cmd opt esc. Then I could getno response & so switched off trying to use reset button. That wouldn't work either so I switched off from the plug.

Needless to say I started up the duo & found a list of boot key combos & tried all of them, but to no avail.

my hands are knck ered now from typing on thee duo.

I wish the port on the back of the duo was adb hack. How to test it?

What kinda plug fits it? First count the holes for signal pins, is it a DIN-4 (ADB) or a DIN-8 (serial)?

Google around for info on serial port hacks to the modem slot in that case, that's more than likely what it is I would guess, nothing else makes any sense to me. If you had an old slow modem or a serial printer to plug into it you could test it that way or you could test it indirectly by trying to use the other port as a modem port.

My guess is the hacked port will work as the modem port on a DuoDock or minidock and that the standard (Crappy@$$) Modem/Printer port is only addressable now as a Printer port because of the hack. This is a VERY GOOD THING, IMHO, because the combo port was a Dumb@$$ serial implementation that's nothing but trouble in every instance I've encountered it!

I tried testing it with my modem, but had no response.

I am not allowed to select the port in chooser. I get
the choice of 1 serial port or no serial port.

lovely choice!

shall I just risk it & plug an adb keyboard in?

I hope you are kidding, the plug won't fit and most likely won't work.

Make sure the power conector is firmly plugged in, those tend to slip out a bit over time. In addition, check to see that the adb connectors are firmly seated. At a last resort it could be your power supply has blown a fuse or died.

When it died, did it pop or make a burning smell or spark or anything? Those power supplies tend to die quite violent deaths.
