In that vein, I'd need to be one of the really early O.S. revs, with components scattered willy-nilly about, no semblance of organizational structure at all, like a system folder. I'd run like a bat outta hell on current equipment . . . if you could actually get me to run at all. jt ™. Trash Hauler: call sign: eight-ball C.O. AC-130H SpecOps 68kMLAAF |

Hmmm... tough call... I'll have to go with being "Escape Velocity", as this is what I acheive while riding on my bike to class! I would be ClarisWorks 2.0. Not quite with it these days, but is still more easy to work with than that other software package. -------------------------- Give your dreams a chance.™ - Apple in the mid '90s Warrior maclover5 68k Macintosh Liberation Army Number of 68ks Liberated: 6

hmm... I'd accually be two things... a peice of hardware and software.hardware: a 1X CDrom it does it's job, slowly, but it does. oh, and it takes a while to find things software: roxio toast it's kind of bulky... it can do several things (and very quite well) it does it's thing quietly in the background, and then when it is done, gives notice and spits out the finished prouduct, and if requested, and/or if there is time, will check over it's work. heh. me so smhaaart! THnXN "I'll bet you 10$ that my newton can do as many things as your palm pilot can do, and more!!" *note my friend has an M505... and he owes me 10$! and remember, if you try and install mac OS 10.2 on an early G3, you will go insane, and aquire a thirst for blood! |

HAR!™ so you want to wear polyester leisure suits from the 1970s? what would I be...... hmmmm... howzabout system 7.5. Stable, pretty, intellegent features, pretty interface and purrs when you tweak it just right.....When it wants to be. I wish I could be Band in a Box. I could be the whole rhythm section plus horns, all at once! I could spontaneously harmonize even the fastest of improvised bebop lines, all while keeping flawless time!In reality, I'm more like Linux. When it's running well, it's very stable and efficient, and it's a pleasure to work with. When it's not having a good day, it's a pain in the @ss. The only difference is that I don't usually kernel panic, I have no system of privileges for the people that I come in contact with, and I can't have new ideas installed in me with the rpm command. Oh, and if I was a Mac, i'd be a Performa 5200. Sorta ugly, slow and not quite with it, and much maligned, but if used in the right way, is quite an enjoyable experience. -------------------------- Give your dreams a chance.™ - Apple in the mid '90s Warrior maclover5 68k Macintosh Liberation Army Number of 68ks Liberated: 6

I'm haveing trouble decideding... so I have 2:1) The System 6 Control Panel. Does a wee bit of everything, doesn't always make sense, and you can always teach it new tricks. 2) Hypercard (2.0 and previous)... for pretty much the same reasons :-) ~Marchie
