The 8100av has more cpu speed than the 840av, but I feel that the 840av has better architecture.

has the 8100/110 av got space for 2 cd-rom drives? & could I transplant my 840av mobo into an 8100/110av case?

& would I then be loosing ports & could I make the ports fit?

I want a company that out apple's apple.

Well apple computers tend to be more pc, ie:- personal computers, ie:- tailored to thier owners needs rather than being made to work with microsoft.

I want a company that will build a computer fairly specifically to what I want.

I guess I'm really supposed to just start my own company?

The 8100 case is EXACTLY the same as the 840av case. The 840av is better mostly because it resulted from the exhaustive efforts of Apple into making a 68k based AV machine. The 8100 was based on a then crude PPC architecture, which made it good, but not quite as streamlined.
