as the subject says... I have my Duo 230 half taken apart, and I'll be sanding it some tonight, tho I don;t know if I'm going to sand the ridges down or not on the back. Should I camo-style paint it in silver and black, or do something else?I was thinking of taking the letters off the keyboard and repainting the top surfaces of those too... Elvish? Give me some ideas!!!! ~Marchie ~Chaplain Marchie Admin of The WonderLAN ~~"We are all Mad here"~~ |

Don't do silver, don't do silver, DON'T DO SILVER!!!!Black looks good but is a little passe right now...how about WHITE? If you do white, make sure you put a coat of clear gloss over it to make cleaning off fingerprints/etc easier. 666th poster and 666th thread-creator Mod of the Mac II series Forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 7 My Site: http://cine.sytes.net My Hotline Server: 840av.sytes.net

White would be neato, but I have some reservations about the brightness of white paint. I think silver has issues too, but I would like to just see what a titanium duo would look like...Don't do black. Don't do camo. I'm just full of constructive suggestions today! How about a not-too-bright-white with a 6 color apple? No one ever does interesting designs with case painting. Everything ends up in solid colors or camo. Actually, there was a MA article about painting where they did quite a nice job on a 7200, but they DID camoflage a 9600. Anyway, what about a BIG 6 color apple on the back of the screen? { candyPunk } { Captain of Observation, 68k MLA } { 68k Macs liberated: 3} { My baby: Q660av } |

That Hot Rod Elsie had a G3 in it, yes? Does that make it cooler because it's useful while an LC might not be, or worse because it killed a 68k mac? I don't have any personal affection for LC's, really, but it did completely ruin the old-schoolity of the thing. They replaced the mobo, didn't they? They must have. Perhaps the LC with a Sonnet presto 040 adapter would make it cool, but it's just a case transplant, IIRC{ candyPunk } { Captain of Observation, 68k MLA } { 68k Macs liberated: 3} { My baby: Q660av } |
