Wahoo! I just sniped a FWB JackHammer for $52!

The last one to come up on eBay went for more than double that price. Now I just need a 68-pin ribbon and a UW-SCSI drive...mmmmm...my IIfx is going to kick asthma...

Mmmm, FWB Jackhammer. I am so envious right now.

*dreams of 68k heaven: accelerated nubus video cards with max VRAM, radius rockets, supermac spigots and FWB Jackhammers*

Sorry if I offend anyone by saying this, but what is an FWB Jackhammer?

FWB's JackHammer was and is the single best SCSI host ever created for Nubus macs. It has onboard 50-pin and 68-pin SCSI ports as well as a 68-pin SCSI port on the back of the card, allowing a large number of drives to be connected to it (internal space allocations and adequate power supply notwithstanding).

But what really makes it shine is raw, unadulterated speed. Back in the early 90's, an FWB Jackhammer could be configured with a 4-drive SCSI RAID array and pull an insane 36MB/sec transfer rate. Nothing came close to it back then. Even high-end servers from IBM, Sun and others couldn't touch the raw power of a JackHammered mac.

w00t!

36mb/sec. Faster than my 400 MHz iMac DV Special Edition (ATA/33)

If I had a 68pin drive and a Jackhammer in my 650, i would probably look like this:
