The local junk store has an Apple Stylewriter II for $15. I found the ink replacement kits for $10 online, so it seems like a pretty good deal for the low volume printing that I do. Anyone have/use one of these printers? Do you like it? Are there any problems with it that I should know about?mathgeek 68K Macs Liberated: LC, Performa 636, Mac Classic II My Powerbook 1400 page http://www.its.caltech.edu/~dgoulet/1400 |

If you've been spoiled by laser printing (like I have ) the output of an SWII is going to look like crap.Other than that, it's not a bad printer. ~Coxy - Leader, Tactical Operations Unit Mayor of NuBus City v3.0

I'd go for a newer SW, like the Color 2400/2500. I've seen at least a half dozen of these in local L.A. thrift shops going for $15-$20, and at that price they're a much better buy than a SW II. They use the same ink cart as my Canon C545 (which means you can get it ink for it anywhere, even Best Buy) and should have about the same print quality.666th poster and 666th thread-creator Mod of the Mac II series Forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 7 My Site: http://cine.sytes.net My Hotline Server: 840av.sytes.net Edited by - cinemafia on 21 Oct 2002 11:50:07

That basically said it all. And to think that in 1993, when we got ours, Apple marketed it as a "low cost printer with laser quality" -------------------------- Give your dreams a chance.™ - Apple in the mid '90s Warrior maclover5 68k Macintosh Liberation Army Number of 68ks Liberated: 6
