Although I had to pay for these items, they have brought me much happiness. At the local thrift store I was lucky enough to find an external Apple 3.5 inch floppy drive BUT not just a regular 800K model but a high density 1.44 MB model (has a HDFD printed on the front). At another computer store, I was looking another IIfx to get some parts. Was told $20 CDN but no guarantees on whether or not it worked. BUT if I bought all 3 fxs I could have them for $30 CDN. No brainer.
Got the stuff home... floppy drive works on a SE and SE/30 only 1 of the 3 fx works but it has a 50 MHz Nexus accelerator card. Great day for IIfx parts

PS. Not all is good news though... my little green buddy (Messagepad 2100) died mysteriously today. All attempts to revive it have failed so far

Sorry to hear about your MP 2100...tis a great loss.
But, your IIfx scores, escpeally the 50MHz '030 model, are happy indeed!

Thanks for the thoughts about my 2100. 'Tis a sad day indeed. I was completely bummed out when it died - tried all the tricks to get it working. No go.
I'd had it since new in 1997. It was one of the last 5 sold in Vancouver at the Newton Store. When I heard that the Newton was being cancelled I drove like crazy to get to the Newton Store to pick one up.
I have another Newton on order - hopefully it is in good shape

If it was the logicboard, there readily available on ebay, and there sold as 200 upgrades. Check it out, may be nice to save him than replace him.
