Hi again folk,

I have the opportunity to buy a IIsi for a really low price, but it does not come with a monitor. I have read on lowendmac.com that this model output fixed-frequency, sync-on-green signal. I have two PC monitor (Samsung SyncMaster 3Ne and Samsung 950P), but their manual don't talk about sync-on-green. Will these monitor have any chance of working with the IIsi ? Is there any risk to my monitor ? If there is, I won't take any chance since I can't afford to replace them.

Thanks for your input !

Check the monitor sites in the links project (click the period in my sig), the Griffin monitor database ought to tell you what adapter of theirs will work and I think there are a couple of other interesting possibilities there, IIRC.

Thanks Trash. My 3Ne is listed, but my 950P is'nt. However, it does'nt say much. In the Compatibility section, there is "Mac Adapter : Mac PnP". I suppose that mean that as long as I have a DB15-to-HD15 convertor, it would work ?

LOL! I've got no freakin' idea!

My guess offhand would be that they are referring to their Plug-n-Play adapter, check some radius monitor adapter specs over there and see if you find a reference to a different "sync on green" issue adapter, if you do find one, then the PnP is probably the same as any ol' VGA adapter, but I dunno for sure.

You can never go wrong with a Griffin adapter, but some folks think they are overpriced, I am of the opinion that their tech support is worth every penny and everyone needs at least ONE top notch VGA adapter!

edit: here's another site with good info that I didn't add to the links project yet because it's blatant advertising:

http://www.si87.com/MonitorSolutions/radius/

check it out and let me know if it's helpful, maybe I should add it with a disclaimer attached.

For the record, I bought the IIsi. It did<nt work with my 3Ne but did work with my 950p.

Strange sighting MacOS 7 on a 19" monitor ...

Thanks for the input guys!
