I was wondering, do Pivot Monitors require their own proprietary cards, or is it just software? I know that there are control panels out there for said pivot, but do they work in conjunction with the pivot card?
thanks

You don't need a special card, just the software. You'll find that the software will (mostly) only work with the OS specified - System 7.5.x for most control panels and such. I couldn't get it working under OS8

cheers

Don't bet on it, there were several different Pivot models with wildly different requirements. Some did run off mobo video and some did not, depending on the model. I have the product compatability sheets somewhere, but I put them away in one of my boxes and I haven't looked for them yet. A model # for the Pivot in question would be helpful if info is required.

Go to the RADIUS site for more information..

Dunno about Pivoting Support, you've aroused my curiosity and I ran across my Radius Info Cache yesterday so I posted a lot of the info I have handy. Is the RadiusVintage info still available online somewhere? Their site is long gone AFAIK, I'd LOVE to complete my collection of info on Radius products.

Info from Radius Product Overview page 3, March 1993
Built-in Video support listings for three Pivot Models listed in chart,
with annotations at the bottom from the product description info
relating to built-in video support, the meaning is unclear to me, ATM.

Certain Radius cards are highlighted as Landscape or Portrait only with no notations for built-in video either way, do these things use ADB or sense lines to send orientation info to the control panel?

Many are footnoted that add'l VRAM might be required for operation.
My answerline document re the LC PDS interface states that the Pivot does not support the 6XX series.

edit: that's as close as I can get to complete info for now, maybe someday I can edit in the interface card info, but it's MESSY!

disclaimer: not responsible for typos or fallout from decisions based upon crappy@$$ info presentation or content.

edit: found two more typos, Pivot Display name and model # were duplicate of 0277 entry. (paste-o's?)

I used to use a Radius Pivot on the IIci's internal video, but the Radius drivers were required (otherwise the screen was black and blue). As somebody else commented, it is probably model dependent. Alas, I sold the beast to buy a Q950.
