I have massively re-written Flat Pack Macs. It took me about a week, working on it a bit at a time every so often but it's done now and i think you'll agree it looks nicer for it.

It will work in any 2.x or newer browser, all it needs is TABLE support, no stinking frames here and is tested on screen sizes right down to 512x384, it *just* fits in iCab.

It's due to go live at the address in my sig below tomorrow sometime. Until then the mirror is available at
http://ptc.dyndns.org

Please DO NOT bookmark the PTC site, wait ant bookmark the proper address. PTC is my 7300 server under my desk and i regularely change the site on it to test code before publishing.

Any comments to the address on the front page, thanks.

Ooooh, purdy! I like! I like!

However, I noticed it's a bit slow. Is this because it's still on a mirror at present?

ooh! iLike! Btw, about running LC475s under System 7.6.1, i thought i should just say that I run my LC475 under Mac OS 8.1 all the time, and it is actually very snappy, compared to what i first thought. I only have 20 megs of RAM in this Mac, but even so, i am running QuickTime 4 Pro on it, and doing basic video editing in VideoShop 3.0. For the '040, I really wouldn't reccomend anything else. 7.6.1 is a great system, especially for LCIII series machines, but 8.1 is nicer on 475s.

I like alot! The simple use of colour is really nice!

The only thing id recomend, would be it looks (and maybe its just me) like the "navigation" table is too close to the "content" table by like 5 px. Just a little thing that I noticed. *shrugs*

There is only one path and that is the path that you take, but you can take more than one path.

Agreed, but I'd suggest making your buttons norrower rather than moving them and reducing the size of the type in each of them to allow more negative space around the text in each buttom, especially the FPM button.Maybe add one additional space between each text block/button also to gain some air space.

Alternately, go transparent with the white background and eliminate the box around each if possible. (I don't do web design, just graphics, I'm not sure how you can implement the "Read/Unread" indicator the way I suggested )

Jeessh some people can be so picky

I added a 1 px wide line between the text and the nav bar to help seperate em. t'was a kwik-n-dirdy solution but I think it looks quite good.

BTW for thos who haven't caught on yet it's returned to it's permanent address. The slowness on the PTC server was due to my crappy 64k line.
