Today, a friend of mine brought a Quadra 700 motherboard to school for me. He had cannibalized the machine after its PSU died, but he had no use for the motherboard. It has a full 040 at 25 MHz (works, I've tried it in my LC 575). What I'd really like to know is what voltages the Q700 takes on the motherboard. The only PSU I have access to is from a 6100. Is there any way to run the Q700 off of that? If I still had my Q700, instead of giving it away to a local agency that helps the elderly, I could check, but I can't.Official 68kMLA Music and NeXT Expert

Quadra 700 PSU:50 watts, 1.9 Amps, 100-240 volts 6100 PSU: 210 watts, 1.7 Amps, 100-240 volts The 6100 PSU should work, assuming you can actually plug it into the Q700 mobo. I'm guessing the connectors are very different... Anyway, it will just supply more wattage than the Q700 normally uses, thus would be able to power more than just a single hard drive. The lower amperage shouldn't be too much of a problem, AFAIK.

The connectors are very different. I just need to know which wire goes where. The Q700 has a PSU connector like this:
