Okay ... The good news. I'm *finally* getting my powermac DP 867.

It's just that it's getting here next week.

And why is it getting here next week? Because because my billing adress didn't match the shipping adress mastercard had on file, and it took several phone calls and my sending a jpg of my credit card statement to get it sorted.

This is the Billing/Shipping Adress I entered

c/o Alternate Reality Comics
4800 S. Maryland Pkwy ste. D
Las Vegas, NV 89119

This is the adress as it shows on my CC statement:

c/o Alternate Rlty Comics
4800. S. Maryland Pky ste. D
Las Vegas, NV 89119 - 1117

****

Okay. Stop laughing. Yes, it is clear to anybody with a brain that the two adresses are the same ... but this took me several long distance phone calls on my dime at the crack of dawn to get sorted.

Call back now and demand that they ship it TODAY so you get it TOMORROW.

Do not get off the phone until the supervisor 6 levels up agrees to it!

That is the most absurd customer service gaffe I have ever heard of in my life, get their names at each level and threaten to send it in to Leno and Letterman!

Who is it that's being so stubborn? Apple? Or your credit company? Either way, I too bet that, if you make a big enough stink, they'll ship it out faster. Just a thought...
Either way, once it gets here, man, you're gonna rock! :-)

PS Keep in mind that, if when it gets here you don't like it, I've got a nice Quadra 950 I'd be happy to trade for it...

Small Dog.

Delay #1 was my credit card company's fraud protection unit just wanting to verify that it was really me making a big charge since my typical balence is about $200.

Delay #2 was 3 days of adress snafu.

GROAN.

And yeah, its too late to bust chops over free shipping. The package is now enroute

God...who was it that abbreviated the address, anyway? Because the address probably had to be interpreted by a computer at some point, which probably thought they were both different addresses. Either way, good luck and have fun with your new G4!

Well, the tower and monitor should be arriving tomorrow.

But ...

Tomorrow afternoon my dad's coming into town and we have preview tickets to Bowling for Columbine.

(SpaceBoy, if you'd like to see BfC, just go to Ralph's store, mention you work with me at the library and ask for a preview ticket.)

Wow! That would be awesome! I was watching the previews of that with my girlfriend the other night, and it looks very..... interesting. Anyway, it must be good, as it has Charleton Heston in it... Wheeeee!
I'll stop by later...
Thanks a bazillion!

SpaceBoy
PS Glad to hear that your system is on it's way... My PowerBook might be home tomorrow too..... <fingers crossed>
