I'm about to give up. I've been waiting for years for Apple to come out with a new PDA. I've almost given up. Pocket PCs are looking real nice right about now. Please! Give me some hope to hold on! Tell me that Apple is about to come out with a new Newton!On another note...
Does anyone know the status of NCU for OS X. I need it really bad as I'm at college and no longer have room to have my Quadra sitting around. Thanks!!!! Macs Liberated:

Sorry...Apple is not going to release a new PDA. Closest thing you'll get is an iPod.The Newton 2100 is still a great alternative, though. 666th poster and 666th thread-creator

Yeah, as much as it hurts to say this, i must. Apple will NEVER release another pda. There's not much else to say about that. BUT, i have been backed up on my emails and newtontalks, but there is talk of developement for either a stand alone connection utility or a plugin for isync. Check out list at www.newtontalk.net
I agree, the 2x00s are still great pdas.

Newt's a very capable sub-notepad, the PDA market segment has been redefined by palm and the issue muddied into oblivion by Mordor$oft's CringeCrap (WinCE).Newt will be back as a slimmed down part of cell phone technology eventually, the iPod is the forerunner of the next wave of convergence between entertainment and information/communication devices, IMHO. I'd LOVE to see Apple do a very slightly larger rev of the Newt as a real wireless Sub-Notepad for education and vertical market applications like healthcare. Apple Stores, Xserve, Jaguar and AirPort are major pieces in the puzzle of creating a new newt niche in a top to bottom one-stop-single_vendor-technology-shop destination.  jt  ™.

The Apple rep for our school district, and my sisters friend who works at the Apple store says that Apple IS releasing a new PDA. Wait a see. They won't tell me more.~Marchie ~Chaplain Marchie
