Well, wasn't last Saturday such a good day for 68king? After i logged off the Internet on my LC630 (which i am once again doing), i tried starting up the Hackintosh off a floppy with all SCSI devices disconnected, and lo and behold, Elsie booted straight into System 7.5.0, without a single hitch at all! I then powered off and connected one hard drive (my startup volume), and into OS 8.1 we go! And this was a machine that was dead last Tuesday!!! I had to reset some PRAM settings (i reset the CUDA when it died), but other than that, everything was as usual after i put the Hackintosh back together with the PC case and extra drives. Ran her past MacTest Pro and TechTool Pro 3, checked out fine. I have absolutely no idea what happened, but either way, Elsie is back, and she is staying that way!!!! Soo happy!!! Either way, Saturday was a good parent free day (they were in town, and i wanted to stay at home, which i did), and a good day for 68ks.

I suggest a medal of honour for your bravery and skill at restarting her.

Yep. I'd sure like to see my iMac or PowerBook do that...

It sure would be nice if my iMac inserted/ejected CDs and DVDs properly. It also would be grand if my internal speakers worked...

And if my PowerBook could once again recognise that it has a battery and get that freakin no battery icon outta my damn menu bar!

If my 7500 would still boot up if turned off SCSI devices were connected to the SCSI port it would be perfect!

I assume you're talking about the external port. Perhaps you're a victim of SCSI (termination) voodoo?
