To celebrate the ?th anniversary of Goodwill all the branches in Las Vegas are having one of the days this week be a 50% off day.Today's the day for 50% off at the store nearest my house. After work today I'll see if there's anything to liberate. (Spaceboy and I will have to keep our eyes on the Goodwill across the street from work.) 68K's liberated: 4 68Ks adopted to loving homes: 2 PowerMacs adopted: 1 |

Well, I made it over to the Goodwill today at lunch, and, while I didn't find any cool Mac-related stuff, I did come away with a 'new' 80's style 10-speed bike, to replace the last 3 that were stolen over the last 10 months... sigh. Okay, that's about it. Later! SpaceBoyAppleBASIC FOREVER! As of 4/8/02: TiBook G4/500, "Difference Engine" PB 1400/133, "KayPro II" PB 180/33, "Osbourne 1" PMac 7100/G3-266, "DEC Rainbow" and "Altair 8800" Quadra 950, "HAL 9000" iMac Rev.A/333mHz, "Deep Blue" Newton 120, "PADD" |

The Goodwill by my house had only 2 computers ... both very old x86 machines. So, no haul. But on the other hand, let's give a shout out to SpaceBoy and his grab bag o' ram. "Glennon" (the LCIII) now has 20 megs of ram and boots 7.1 like a badazzmofo. 68K's liberated: 4 68Ks adopted to loving homes: 2 PowerMacs adopted: 1 |

NICE! I remember in Grade 6 when Dad got an extra 16 megs put into our LCIII. The tech booted 'er up, Georgina booted up into System 7.1 at the speed of light, and compared to the 4 megs that used to be in there, the 20 megs that it now boasted was just.......HUGE!!!!!! He checked "About this Macintosh" to see how much was registering, and it got the full 20 megs. I remember i said, "Now that's a lotta RAM!" Aaaah, sweet memories. -------------------------- Give your dreams a chance.™ - Apple in the mid '90s Warrior maclover5 68k Macintosh Liberation Army Number of 68ks Liberated: 6

Nah, I'd know it- I ran into her at the caffine shop downstairs earlier today. We both work in the same building, so we do run into each other from time to time- pretty cool, really... she's the first internet-pal I've actually met in 'real life'! Go figure, eh? heh. I remember when I thought 8 MB was huge (because before that, I had an apple IIand an atari 400, both with 64KB of ram to toy with) it was with an old AT class space filler (tht's what I call all of the IBM computers from that time) and it had SIMM slots!! I could play wolfenstien 3D! it was a time when life was sweet, and wasn't complicated. go to school, get another day over with, go home, PLAY WITH FRIENDS (back when I had some), eat, fiddle with my apple II (and impress my friends to boot) then go to bed happy, and hoping tomorrow is gonna be as good as that day was... good times they were.ThnXNX "what does THIS botton to?!" *note do NOT make these your last words! and remember, if you try and install mac OS 10.2 on an early G3, you will go insane, and aquire a thirst for blood! |

Yeah, ran into Space Boy at the Book n' Bean. He's such a sweet and personable fellow that I want to pack him up and send him over to Dana to complete his corru -- er, education. On the other hand, I think his girlfriend might object, and postage to OZ is expensive. 68K's liberated: 4 68Ks adopted to loving homes: 2 PowerMacs adopted: 1 |

I'm single! I like meeting new people! Box me up and send me to Dana! If someone wants to though, FedEx is preferable...they seem to be careful with cargo. -------------------------- Give your dreams a chance.™ - Apple in the mid '90s Warrior maclover5 68k Macintosh Liberation Army Number of 68ks Liberated: 6
