I know that Mordor$oft made a version of Windows NT 4 and 3 that will run on PowerPC processors. Will any of these run on a Macintosh with a PowerPC processor?:ooOOOooo: I believe that we need to have a bootloader, once we get a bootloader, we need to make it interface with the NT CD, then we need to make it, obviously, load NT.... if there's a way to get NT running on a PowerPC based mac... I'd LOVE to see it done, and love to see how to do it. I have, at my disposal Windows NT 4 Workstation Beta 2 Windows NT 4 workstation full Windows NT 4 server Windows NT 3.51 server upgrade special edition Windows NT 5 workstation beta2 Windows NT 5 server Beta2 Official 68k videographer |

Windows on a mac eee -shivers- That just feels wrong...-Danny Forum: http://www24.brinkster.com/catsdorule1/ "Windows(win-doze): A 32-bit extension to a 16-bit graphical shell of an 8-bit operating system originally coded for a 4-bit processor by a two-bit company that can't stand one bit of competition." PS Do you have this version?

i'm not sure if it can be done. A couple of years ago i decided to try it on my PowerBook 1400. I couldn't get the 1400 to boot off the NT CD, so i inquired about it on the MacAddict Forums, and they said that its not possible on a Mac. you MIGHT have some good luck with a PCI based PowerMac, or an OpenFirmware based machine, like an iMac, however.-------------------------- Give your dreams a chance.™ - Apple in the mid '90s Warrior maclover5 68k Macintosh Liberation Army Number of 68ks Liberated: 6

The problem's going to be the MESH SCSI controller, ADB, and the Mac video. Plus, you'll need another HD; I don't think NT will work with the Mac partition table. AFAIK, NT PPC was only for RS6000 workstations.Official 68kMLA Music and NeXT Expert OpenStep Page at http://openstep.topcities.com/ Macs Liberated: SE (2), LC, IIsi, PB 145b, Quadra 700, 6100 (2), PB 5300, PowerMac 5400/200, Performa 6400/180 PCs liberated from Windoze: 3 |

oh, ok... that's what i thought... but GoMac must insist otherwise... so much so that it would be inhumane not to humor him...and the idea is cool to think about, because NT is a great OS on the PC hardware Official 68k videographer |
