...but what the hell happened?! ~Coxy, were you ever able to find out what went wrong? I'd assume so, as I'm typing this here, now, but you never know with M$ products...

coldfusion error or summat?
I know that it was a microsoft access driver file (*.mdb) that was borked, and a MDB file can power a coldfusion system

There should be an alternate place to post on a different server to check if something like that happens again. Just to stay informed on progress mainly. I'd imagine posting a message once would be easier than the amount of emails that must have been sent inquiring why the forums were down. Feel free to use mine if you want.
