Well, on Sunday I came across a nifty site showing how to make your own toolbar icons, linking to websites. iPoding, The Apple Collection, and other sites have already made some, so I figured why not, and made one for the 68KMLA Forums.

http://homepage.mac.com/captainz/68KMLA_IETR/

Instructions:
1) Click URL above
2) Drag graphic into desired location in toolbar

Removal:
Command-Drag the icon to the trash

Enjoy!

I dunno ~Coxy, Mozilla far out-stripes it from my point of view.

2 words: Standards Compliance

here's another 2: Tabbed Browsing

and lastly, 2 more: Crashes less

We can have a great big browser debate if you want...
Anyway, I don't like Mozilla, it's too slow and ugly.

Hey, Fearless Captain!
Reckon you can change it to point to active.asp (or make a new version?)

can't we make a Netscape skin? Or am I the only one using Netscape?
Why does everybody hate Netscape so much? I'm confused about this.
Or is the Linux version of Netscape just better than the rest?
hmmm.... IMHO, Netscape was crap in Windows.... It was slow to load and everything.... The same version works like a wonder in Linux, and looks good too. damn Windows.

(i use i686 Linux with Netscape 7.0)

I used Netscape 7 in Windows on my PC at home...it's not bad at all. I have no idea why people have been blasting it...

There was a demand, so I supplied. I updated the link with some new stuff. There will be a new toolbar icon style made later tonight or tomorrow, and there is one linked to the active.asp page now.

It may be possible to do, but because I abandoned Netscape 2 years ago, I have no need to make one. The instructions on how to make the IE ones are here:
http://homepage.mac.com/sergeidoc/IETR/

Maybe the instructions can be adapted to NS4, NS6, or NS7, but I don't know.

If you ask me, all browsers in the world suck. Here's why:

MSIE - Microsoft makes it, so it sucks.
Netscape 4 - Renderer has issues, so it sucks. Proprietary interface.
Netscape 6/7 - USE THE NATIVE OS INTERFACE. Skins suck. Slow.
Mozilla - Same as Netscape 6/7.
iCab - Renderer has issues.
Opera - Ads suck.

The icons don't work for me in IE 5.2 in OS X...they just make a normal little link in the toolbar, not a picture...

Are you dropping it in the Button Bar or Favorites Bar? If you drop it on the favorites bar, it creates a favorite like normal. If you drop it on the button bar, you get the picture.

Hell yes. Mozilla takes a while to launch on my lowly iMac 333, but once its done, its a terrific browser.

Download Mozilla again (v1.2 alpha) and then do a Custom Install. Turn off everything except for the Navigator part. Then install it. It will load twice as fast.
