I had a crazy idea.Take a car stereo w/ line out leads on it, and mount it in the front of a Quadra 950, with the line leads connected either internally, or into the Audio in on the back. It'd make copying Tapes to CDs a BLAST! Anyone have advice? I was thinking even about putting both a stereo and a graphic equalizer in it... wwho needs a floppy drive?? ~Marchie ~Chaplain Marchie Admin of The WonderLAN ~~"We are all Mad here"~~ |

Alright! That's a fine plan. Though like most hacks, it suffers from unnecessarity (a word??). If the 950 has line in jacks already, why not use your normal stereo system or even a walkman?{ candyPunk } { Captain of Observation, 68k MLA } { 68k Macs liberated: 3} { My baby: Q660av } |

Well, this would be more of an AIO type hack that would have the goal of saving space and electrical outlets (car stereos use the same type of power inputs as computers). Oh, and, this reminds me a lot of the movie Ghostdog, Way of the Samurai. Anybody else seen it? There's a great scene in it where Forrest Whitaker steals a Lexus GS 400 and takes the Double-DIN stereo out of it and hacks it into a hand-made wooden case, then uses it as a slot-loaded, CD "bookshelf" stereo system. Everytime I watch that scene I'm reminded of JT...hunkering around like a Brooklyn Samurai, ripping out car stereos and hacking them into duo Docks.... 666th poster and 666th thread-creator Mod of the Mac II series Forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 7 My Site: http://cine.sytes.net My Hotline Server: 840av.sytes.net Edited by - cinemafia on 03 Oct 2002 11:45:59 |
