Hello all, I read in a previous posting that A/UX's default system 7.0.1 can be upgraded as high as 8.x!
any ideas on how to do this?

sorry clinton, but i don't think so.....

you can certainly have a dual-tri-whatever boot setup and boot into 8, but i'm pretty sure that A/UX barfs if you go past the version of the FInder that is installed with it.... sorry (hell, i wish it was true!)

what about this?
quote:
Okay, a few quick observations:

FYI A/UX's OS is 7.0.1, not 7.1 The MacPartition OS can be upgraded to 7.1, 7.5.x, 7.6 or even 8.0 or 8.1.

It sucks that I have to do a whole-hog custom install just to increase the size of MacPartition over the puny default 3.8MB.

does this clarify it?
is it maybe possible to do some creative replacement of files in the MacPartition system folder (If it has one, I am not sure as I have not installed it on my quadra)
any ideas, it may be an interesting thing to try for anyone that doesn't mind risking the possibility of screwing up their system. (I would, except I have not burned A/UX yet, I will soon though
anyway, let the software hacking jam session begin!
