Hey there folks! I've been trying to clear out some of the more useless junk from my TiBook's hard drive- who would've thought that 20 gigs could seem so cramped?! Anyway, I discovered that an install of a freeware/open-source program called "GIMP" is lurking all over my drive- nearly 200 seperate files, in all sorts of places. I recall downloading it a few months back (IIRC it's an alternative to Photoshop), but I was never able to get it running properly. Anyway, now I want to delete it, but whenever I drag anything to do with it to the trash, I get an odd error message: "The item cannot be moved to the trash, because it cannot be deleted"! Huh? I selected the largest of the GIMP files that I can find (over 63 megs that I really need back), and "Get Info"-ed on it, made sure that I've got read+write access, etc., but I still get the same error. This is driving me batty! If you've got any ideas, I could sure use 'em! Thanks, SpaceBoy PS For reference, I'm trying this on my TiBook/500, running OS X 10.2.1, and with 512 megs of RAM. Oh, and I just recently ran Norton Disk Doctor on the drive, so everything should be okay file-wise. While I was booted from the Norton CD (os 9.1, I think), I tried deleting the files, but got a variation on the same error message. Sigh.AppleBASIC FOREVER!
