Hey y'all, got a burning question for you and didn't quite know where to go so here I am. I picked up a trunkload of laserwriter IISC machines a while back, amongst other things. I was told the NT was the one to get but those went before I got there but am looking at an NTX board on ebay with the full eight megs of ram and would like to know if it will fit in an SC? The image of it just looks kinda big compared to mine but the seller 'assures' me it will fit! Any toner stained fingers out here know the answer?

In the LaserWriter II lineup, there are:

LaserWriter IInt
LaserWriter IIntx
LaserWriter IIf
LaserWriter IIg
LaserWriter IIsc

The LaserWriter IIsc is a different design than the rest, so it is not compatable with the other setups. The NT is not the one to get. NT stands for "New Technology", NTX is "New Technology, Xpanded". The NTX logic board can handle 12MB of RAM max, and a SCSI HD for font storage. The one to get is the IIg logic board, because it has 12MB of RAM and built in Ethernet.

So in answer to your question, the IInt logic board will not fit in your IIsc.
