Hey y'all!

The little isolated key (with an arrow) that doesn't get to play with all the other keys, on the top left hand side of a Mac Classic keyboard.

What does it do, and how do you use it? It's got a great clicking sound if anything! Not sure if mine is broken.

Peace!

It's a power switch for soft power macs. That's if i'm thinking of the right key you're reffering to.

Usually it is a Colour Classic+ that have it but some PPC macs are not soft power, ( that turn themselves on by pressing that key ) but all current macs are.

It's not supposed to do anything on a Classic. Don't worry. It only turns on the power on newer Macs.

It also acts as the three-fingered salute on older macs (cmd+ctrl+arrow) to reset them.

I have 2 adb keyboards, one small & one extended.

My extended has a power switch(square with a left pointing equalatiral triangle) & it's magic. I use one switch & my whole computer shuts off or on.

Yes thats 1 switch to switch on/off computer, monitor(3 of them), speakers. My printer(Stylewriter 1200) is great too cos it switches itself off if not used for 10 minutes!

My smaller keyboard came with my Performa. It has an oblong key with a triangle on it, never got that key to work. Perhaps it will when I use it for the next mac I aquire.

OK! Thanks!

I'll just ignore it since it doesn't work on mine!

Take it easy!
