...about the happymac having disappeared since 10.2, and the hacks to put it (or another graphic back)

It'd be funny to stick an icon of a disk with the X through it, just to give yourself an adrenaline rush every time you saw it and went 'whoa my disk is broken' then going like 'whoa! I tricked myself... good one me!'

there are hacks to put Happy Mac back?

heh, that'd be a good idea to hack into someone else's machine to scare the hell out of them, because they'd not know you did it.

I once put the blue screen of death screensaver on a bunch of windoze machines and scared the IT personnel spitless.

Yaromat's site that "emulates" a mac screen on PC's, now THAT scares IT people.

BTW, has anyone here in the forums used the happy mac hack? It modifies bootx and well....that just makes me nervous. I was waiting for a bit more people to use it and let me read the feedback before I moved on.

There is only one path and that is the path that you take, but you can take more than one path.

I like that Linux screensaver which has got big crash screens for various OSs (the Sad Mac is included, even if it's not pixel-perfect accurate...) My friend has it on his laptop, and occasionally he'll glance over and go "Oh, cr@p!" before remembering that it's the screensaver.

HAR!

One cool thing to do with the Yaromat site is to give it to Anti-Mac Windows users, and tell them its a "cool Anti-Mac site". Then look at the looks on their faces.

Just change all the "Wallpeper" to a picture of a BSoD, hide the desktop icons and the Doc^H^H^H Start bar, hide the pointer in the corner of the screen and unplug the mouse!
