all of it! video capture requires GOBS-n-GOBS-n-GOBS of disk space . . . record 1 min. and multiply!

I thinkk your best bet would be to connect it to a newer mac via ethernet and make it save the movie to a hd with GBs of space.

Uncompressed, full-frame, full-motion, NTSC video takes up roughly 150MB per minute. Because you're in the UK, however, you're sampling PAL video, which is 25fps instead of 30fps, so the ratio is going to be more like 125MB per minute.

So, to answer your question, it would take approxamitely 1.25GB to store a 10 minute television program, not including any audio. Of course, this all assuming that you have a Nubus video capture/accelerator card that allows your 840av to capture full-frame/full-motion video.

If you're using the stock video capture, which is limited to 320x240 at less than 15fps, you can capture 10 minutes of uncompressed in much less than 1.25GB of disk space, but will be one-quarter the normal frame and will be choppy.
