So I was just looking through The Fellowship of the Ring and I noticed a line I never registered before: '...he that breaks a thing to find out what it is has left the path of wisdom,' Gandalf tells Saruman. Oops. I'm afraid his advice is too late to save the 7100 I have in pieces in my closet. And those poor RC cars when I was younger... and clocks..

I'm sure that most of you are more qualified than I at actually putting things back together (the 7100'll work again some day... really!), but despite that, I bet I'm not the only one who's left Gandalf's path of wisdom more than once! Any stories?

ack! I might like big hair and leopardprint but I draw the line at hoop earrings!

Of course, the way you so delicately described pounding the snot outta the freakin' things, I could be swayed.
