What did you have that 56k modem in? Did you have it a Mac? If not, do you know if it would work in a Mac? I could use a modem for my AIO. I am in the US also, so would shipping be alot?

The modem is pci.

Shipping to us would be viable as the item is lightweight.

I don't know if you can use pci.

um, did that modem come standard with your Compaq? It could be a WinModem, in which case it won't work on a Mac.

I bought the modem seperatley & can dig out the driver disk too.

do any macs have pci?

I would assume it could work on a mac with pci.

I dont have a great knowledge of pci or pc, I know more about 68k mac than the other(dark?) side.

Don't bet on it, I've never heard of a PCI modem that would work in a mac and I think I recall dr. bob saying it was unlikely any could over on fritter, dunno for sure tho.

Exactly. Most internal modems that work on Macs are CommSlot modems. Don't think I've ever heard of a PCI Mac Modem.
