Howdy, folks! I'm wondering, how does one convert the sound-track from an MPEG movie into an MP3 file, suitable for play in iTunes or on an iPod? I've got this amazing live video of Peter Gabrial's "Signal To Noise" that I'd love to put on my iPod, but I don't know how to strip out the audio! Any ideas? Thanks, SpaceBoy PS For reference, I'm running OS X 10.2 on my TiBook :-)AppleBASIC FOREVER! As of 4/8/02: TiBook G4/500, "Difference Engine" PB 1400/133, "KayPro II" PB 180/33, "Osbourne 1" PMac 7100/G3-266, "DEC Rainbow" and "Altair 8800" Quadra 950, "HAL 9000" iMac Rev.A/333mHz, "Deep Blue" Newton 120, "PADD" |

You need QuickTime Pro. Open the video, go Edit > Extract Tracks, and click Sound Track (or similar). Save the untitled sound track as an AIFF file and convert it into an MP3 with iTunes.

SndSampler can do it, I think. Or at least, I'm pretty sure you can extract the audio as an AIFF, and then mp3ize it with itunes or whatever. It's shareware, so it's worth a try anyways. http://www.sndsampler.com

Actually, you don't need QTPro, just an old version of MoviePlayer (before 3.0)
