As of now my hotline server is back up! I'm going to have it up every single weekday from 8am until about 5pm PST. Hope that works for most of you folks! Until I get a hardware router, which seems like the best option after the IPNetRouter debacle that screwed my Quadra over for a week, that's going to be the extent of it!

Do I go to your server through irc?

The only irc I've got to work on my Quadra is snack & it isn't the greatest program ever.

Now that I'm here I also would like to know about a couple of control panels.

I have one (we are going by the start up pictures) which is like 2 hands with some money inbetween. This is the first control panel to load up, but has a red x through it.

A little later I have another control panel with a pic of a cows/bulls skull?????????

Anyone got any idea what these are?

Good to see you cine.

Hey I have been posting wanting to know about removing my floppy & inserting a burner?????????? Quizzical looks & sniggers may follow that statement if you so wish.

Does anyone else have trouble with thier floppy?

I have tried:-

Pc floppys

floppies formatted on a Fontwriter

& ST formatted floppies

The quadra just has a fit!

The floppy is niether use nor ornament.

I think these are extensions ather than control panls. The cow skull would most likely be a component of Frontier, a scripting language. The "pile of money" rings a bell, but I'm damned if I can remember what it is right now.

If you turn on help balloons and run the cursor over the extensions in the finder you can often find some interesting information about them. Also the shareware "Extension Overload" is a handy reference.

Cheers!

No, no, hotline! You can get the 68k Hotline client here.

Sounds like it's a Quicken extention, but since Quicken likes to have a whole bunch of other libraries loading before it goes towork, it may have disabled itself.

That's "Idle Time", all I know is that it's an extension that allows scripts, applets and certain other applications to monitor the idle or downtime of the host machine, for some prupose.

I think I should do a pictorial walk-through. Removing the floppydrive is great for adding a third 3.5" drive, but the CD burner can only fit in the top bay, which is 5.25". Maybe you already knew that, but it seemed like you were wanting to remove the floppy so that you could replace it with a burner, which wouldn't neccessarily make sense. Um, yeah.

You can say that again!

Generally as far as I know Idle Time is associated with AIM. That's all I've ever seen it with.

Go into the Extentions Manager control panel and you can disable it. Since it loads first, it should be the first thing on the list under "extentions".

P.S. - 840av.sytes.net just went online for today, and there's a few new things. I added Star Wars Rogue Squadron with my own player profile and the cheat pack!

On my LCII and my EmuQuadra if you hold down the spacebar while the happymac loads and keep holding it down it'll load the extensions manager.
